Agree on both fronts. Malcolm MacDowell was fantastic as the dark reimagining of Mr. Rourke. That level of menace and unease felt ideal to me.

I had a mom and dad come in to my office just a few months ago (I’m a primary care doctor) asking me to do a pelvic exam on their sixteen-year-old daughter to see if she was still a virgin. The daughter was standing there mortified, crying and shaking as she argued with them not to make her do it.

Runaways has just consistently exceeded my expectations in a great way. I genuinely am loving this show. The connection between all the actors, especially Lyrica’s Nico and Ginny’s Karolina, just elevates everything on the screen. Ohmigod, I’m so sorry. Start with a domestic abuse agency or hotline, like Haven House. The names vary from community to community, but the shelters will generally help you no questions asked. Some of them will even come and get you if you need help leaving. You should be able to find them with a quick internet search…
