Yup. I stopped helping to clean up after work parties because none of the men do that so why should I? I feel a little douchey about it but unless I am specifically asked to help, I’m not volunteering to do that.
I started doing what the men in the office do: leave the copier jammed up for someone else to fix.
I’ll get back to work. But, I’m not going to do the extra any more. You know, the way women get roped into coordinating office parties, or bringing in snacks, or developing ideas and having them credited to men, or doing someone else’s job for them in addition to my own because that’s expected of women. I’ll do my…
Ok - yes to S. Bee BUT ffs this has BEEN brewing!! This happened largely due to ignorant voters - do you know what a friend’s dad said AFTER he voted for Trump?? “What is Pence - is that like...Trumps real last name”
Hopefully today will be my first full day of work. Yesterday I was sent home, “not as a reprimand, but to calm down and get some perspective.”
In the coming days people will be looking for someone to blame, the pollsters, the strident feminists, the Democratic Party, a vengeful god, but once you dust for finger prints, it’s pretty clear who ruined America—white people. I guess, ruining Brooklyn was just a dry run. The caucasian nation turned up in droves to…
How about, “Are you KIDDING me?!” I swear she averaged about 20 of those an episode this season.
My husband and I spent a great weekend at an Imago workshop. It’s a teamwork, couple’s therapeutic/communication model and it’s been VERY enlightening.
Practical Magic is an annual viewing for me. I just love it.
Dirt devils suuuuck. Pun not intended
Currently watching Hocus Pocus! Also, earlier today, I hung out with a friend from college who recently moved to New York and we hung out in Brooklyn. We also saw Aziz Ansari at Smorgasborg (outdoor food market) and I think he may have been filming for his Netflix show.
He’s not quite food motivated - yet. I said in another reply that one of the reasons I don’t think he’s been with a family before is he doesn’t seem to “get” treats, but he’s learning. So maybe we can especially work on rewarding longer pees, because it seems part of the problem, is he’s never emptying. Which seems so…
I finally bought a Dyson on clearance, for about the price of a top of the line Hoover. It kicks ass. The best thing about it, for me, is that if it sucks up something it shouldn’t (Legos, blocks), it doesn’t break, and everything pops apart so you can clear it out easily.
A dirt devil was the exact brand I went to return, terrible product, it lasted one month and a half.
I puttered around the house, went swimming, then worked on a research proposal for a few hours. Then I went grocery shopping. Now I’m drinking a beer and gearing up for the ‘brain dump’ section of the proposal.
I did this!! Except for me, it was the book I have been trying to finish. I didn’t move all day except for necessary stuffs. It was glorious.
I watched it last night. Can I just say Randall and Beth’s daughters are the cutest! When the little one said “hold up” in that tiny voice when she was confused about the script, I died.
Work and then when to target to return the worst vacuum cleaner ever.
Practical Magic was one of my favorite movies growing up! I need to get a copy of that movie. I fell in love with Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac when that movie came out. :)
