As usual, far-right politicians are so dumb with their stupid persecutory delusions they are incapable of not shooting themselves on the foot publicly even when it’s completely unnecessary.

No offense meant Ari but NG+ isn’t made to make sense. It’s just the game you beat already, it’s not going to change the story. Who cares if your inventory makes sense? I just defeated Malenia in elden ring while dual wielding her katana arms. It’s just fun

It’s clear to anyone with half a brain that Gamestop has been in the midst of a slow, painful circling of the toilet bowl the past few years.

If you’re playing new game+ you already don’t give a shit about things making narrative sense.

Could have, not could of (:

What? NG+ is always like that. It never “makes sense” in any game. Did you have nothing else to write about so you made up this TERRIBLE ISSUE? Jesus.

This is ONE of the problems with live service games, and the companies that make them.

“NG+ is a game mode where you start the game over with all the gear and skills you’ve unlocked, but it comes with one unexpected problem: you start the game over with all the gear and skills you’ve unlocked.”

I’m truly baffled by this piece. They might as well have an article about not watching your favorite movie with director commentary because you won’t hear the movie dialogue.

If I’m playing the game for a refresher, I don’t need my inventory to make sense to the plot. I already know how it plays out and it’s basically a recap.

I had no idea what NG+ was until this article explained how it works narratively to me in excruciating detail.

No shit! No NG+ mode makes any sense story wise. It just gives you a new-ish experience and makes side quests easier.

agreed all NG+ runs are weird since you’ve already beaten the game. NG+ is not really supposed to be cohesive from a story point

It also doesn’t make a lick of narrative sense.”

Here’s the reality: we aren’t the general gaming public.

People who read up on gaming news are a vocal minority. Most people don’t give a shit about news, politics, or whatever the fuck Blizzard is doing. They see Diablo. They see shiny new game. They buy. That’s it.

Not trying to be a dick, but that’s the truth.

Because if developers think this is the right move to make, then we get more games like this and less actually good games. Not too complex, right?

This just makes me sad.  This is how we get this style of game... forever.  Predatory, micro-transaction filled trash.  Put in minimal effort to make a game, stuff it full of this garbage and you hit it big.  It’s kind of like how every time someone buys a console from a scalper they just reinforce that behaviour.

Obviously no exposure from GDQ. The real issue is this was the first hybrid local and remote event and this dick basically just guaranteed that non-US runners who can’t travel won’t get to participate because now any streamed run is under suspicion.

Are customers really supposed to waste their money on games that won’t continue to function? I would never buy a multiplayer game if I knew that were the rule.
