The Venn diagram of Kardashian fans and Star Trek fans looks just like Kim’s tits: two big circles with a noticeable gap between them.
If their objective was to bring in a host that has no talent, comedic timing, screen presence, or even pop culture relevance, then it’s a good thing Steve Forbes was too busy this week to come back.
I’ve been out of the loop for some time now but I figured Kim Kardashian would’ve stopped being relevant by 2012.
“Well, IGN says the latest Call of Duty sequel is 10 out 10 and has a little bit of fun for everyone, any critic that disagrees is clearly not doing their job right”
-A lot of fucking idiots
Dude, if you’ve convinced yourself that the older, kinja-less version of the AVClub would go any easier on this trifle, I don’t know what to tell you.
If a comedian never crosses the line, I’m not sure I can respect them.
this is what comedy is, laughing at mostly stupid things youre not supposed to laugh at
nah, these weren’t even jokes. they were just lazy attempts to justify his issues with outrage culture by doubling down on his transphobia. there wasn’t some amazing insight, and this is a netflix special, not some material he was testing.
he didn’t even make any jokes. he just went full transphobic.
they can go buy tickets to his shitty show, there is no need for netflix to broadcast this into homes, just pull it.
just pull it, he’s a huge influence on people, this just gives people the green light to be transphobic and claim “they’re just joking”. It’s netflix, it’s a company, it’s not some freedom of speech issue, they can pull it. I don’t know if people realize the level of self harm this will ripple through the queer communi…
Chappell is making political statement. Sniveling about how they are just stupid jokes makes no sense.
At this point Chappelle is as edgy as a half-inflated balloon.
Ah thanks. I'm happy and it feels right. Grief is inevitable but temporary when it comes to dealing with bigots like Chappelle.
Some people are for justice on a deep, philosophical level, and some people just had the bad luck to be born into a group that got the short end of the societal stick. Chappelle is quickly revealing himself to be someone who, had he been born white, would absolutely be whining about taking “our” country back.
Congrats by the way for coming out!
Look, if our millionaire comedians can’t make fun of marginalized groups, then don’t the terrorists somehow win?
Oh Jesus Christ. As someone who has struggled with gender identity and after this year identity as a woman this is goddamn miserable. I live in the same state Chappelle calls home and people loooooove him here. Siding with JK Rowling is a rather quick and easy way to out yourself as an asshole.
These big baby whiner comics only take these criticisms as proof of their edginess.
