Weird, that scene makes me think it's a good choice on the author's side not to have an explicitly non-straight POV character. While he can create compelling and interesting gay characters, he's just bad at writing gay sex. He knows his limitations.

Yeah. The myrish swamp was painful to read, and i usually enjoy lesbian written erotic fiction. He's not gay, so he doesn't have access to that experience, and he isn't a porn writer, so he doesn't have the skill to treat sex scenes and make them enticing.
