You are only forgiven iif you are regretful for your sins and you make a serious commitment to sin no more. The sacrament of the reconciliation isn't a magical ceremony where the priest forgives the sins, the priest is a middleman between the sinner and Jesus. The priest cannot know if the sinner fulfills the

Japan, due to the massive loss of men in working ages and the industrial demands of the WWII, had been taking huge steps towards equality. These steps were truncated by MacArthur's dictatorship, which wished to both stabilize Japan and immunize it agains communism (and communism was rampant in Japan, as a reaction to

My point is that the implications of "soldiers shot at the crowd" and "soldiers fired in self-defense" are vastly different. They are two completely different narratives. You chose the first one.

Yeah. Not all cultures are equal. And in this case, the culture we can blame is the American one, who occupied Japan for a long time, truncating the shift towards equality that Japan had been experiencing in the later years of the WWII.

And then, it got occupied by the US, which only contributed to further delay the integration of women in the proletariat.

Liberal is conservative in the rest of the world. This is because liberals in the rest of the world defend radical economic liberalism, what you guys call libertarianism.

I wasn't commenting on the lawyer tactics, in that post (i do that elsewhere). My comment was more a critic to your description "British soldiers who shot at the crowd". They were being crowded and about to be lynched...

Iirc, his defense was that the "victims" were attacking the soldiers, and they acted in self-defense. So yeah, the victims were vilified by the lawyer in that trial. The difference is that in that case, the vilification was (probably) factually true.

Except that those soldiers more than likely shot in self-defense.

A witness against her client. Slandering a witness that goes against the interest of her client is exactly her job.

Hehe i'm from Santiago (although working in China at this moment). What's ironic is that she raised me to be leftist and stuff... she was leftist like 20 years ago! They changed my mom! :O lol

From Galicia :D
Well, i don't follow the "prensa rosa", so it's my mom who keeps me updated on the topic (extensively, even if i don't want to talk about it). Then again she's an odd kind of antimonarchist: she dislikes the royal family because she feels they are too pro-PSOE. And that's kinda the same line of opinion

Not the OP, but a Spaniard too!

I'm not sure there's an actual reason. Could be because one of the former girlfriends of the Prince (who was part of the nobility) was very well liked, but (unofficially) rejected by the King because she was a divorcee, too. The reason they let the Prince marry with a divorcee now is

Do you realize that we currently live, despite the overabundance of violence and sexual agression in the media we consume, at a minimum of violent and sexual crime? and that the trend is still going downwards?

Well, in Spain, in divorce cases, additional compensation have been given to women due to them shouldering the house work.

People with different standards of cleanliness/organization should not get together.

For some reason, i always pictured the Cersei-Jaime relationship as rapey. Maybe it's because of how incest is usually pictured in the novels i have read. And maybe because of that influence, too, i got the strong impression in the novels that the beginning of their relationship might have been her raping him. So, in

To be fair, i think the same could be said about the middle east. The different perception of what happened there is that, the middle east countries being non-democratic to a certain extent, it was easy for minorities to seize power and make it look like the country was modernizing quickly and religion was being

I don't think the problem is they are lazy. The parent companies put a lot of constraints in time and resources. I remember how KotOR I cut one of the possible endings (female dark sider redeemed at the end), and KotOR II cut all the endings! And the ending in a storyline-driven game is a very important thing.

The problem is that very very rarely people realizes how dangerous a cesspool is. Most people will only think "meh, it's just dirty water and some shit" and that the only thing that can get damaged there is their dignity for a few days till the smell washes over.
