I'm not sure the whole 'grey' thing really helps further discourse on Gawker sites.
Idk if it's so much a war about who gets to define what as a free-for-all that resolves nothing.

Right? Certainly not something we should be required to deal with, being that the ones who know and aren't shitty are few and far between. That said, it sounds like you've had a lot more positive experiences with therapists than I have.
I'm glad that worked out like that. I hope that in the future, RLE will basically…
Go figure. And yeah, this is even more relaxing than Jezebel on a Sunday afternoon... lol.
Yeah, idk... I prefer 'transsexual' to 'transgender' myself. I'm not sure GLAAD has the right of it in regards to the commonality of those terms usage. I'd say it's more likely that since 'transgender' is a more inclusive term, that of course it's going to be used more - just not necessarily by transsexuals.
And yes,…
Lol, I can just hear it now "but grass-fed is good for the environment."
Even their own link doesn't support what they said:
again, no it's not.
Yeah, I've already passed the point of having much respect for gamer or even geek culture at this point, despite having grown up in both. People seem to value being entertained over treating people like... people. And a lot of the shitty ignorant shit that people say sounds exactly like the shitty ignorant shit that…
Urgh, lovely either way, eh? Oh and methane, don't forget that lovely greenhouse gas that they toot so much of.
In my experience, being trans is not something therapists no much about or even tend to consider. Even if your insurance pays for it and they're trying to help, that could still be problematic in that it's a waste of your time and possibly might affect you negatively. Which is a bummer.
Yeah, things are pretty…
When there's a nearly-constant rain of micro-agressions based on one's gender, being publicly humiliated like this... well, honestly, I'm surprised she was as calm as she was about it.
Ugh, and the whole 'disclosure' thing is such a red herring, no?
Mmm, and your example of misnaming could also be a literal example of misnaming a person based on gender. That is, a transman whose name is 'Joe', but was named 'Alexandra' at birth. Sorry, bit of a tangent, but I thought you might find that to be an interesting thought.
Lol, and "the truth" is not even the truth. Both sex and gender have a fair bit of variance in them.
Eh, maybe different timezone. But I'm still not inclined to let them off the hook considering the article references (I'm counting the Twitter entries, of course) her as "Laura Kate Dale," thus indicating repeatedly that 'Dale' is her surname, before referring to her just by said surname. Even only counting Twitter…
This is the pdf that really gets into it.
I just googled that, I should dig up the actual file I have, it does a better job of 'splainin, IMO.
Well, I figure that the amount of informing done varies from doctor to doctor and patient to patient. Probably those that would go to the effort of finding a informed-consent physician are going to fall in the already…
Sadly, it's only just catching on. I found a guide to physicians that do informed consent in the States and it's not extensive... basically it works like this, though - you go to the endocrinologist and say 'Hey, I'm trans, I need these hormones,' and they prescribe them to you once the physician has ensured that you…
Conversely, HRT might help.
There being positive comments doesn't erase the fact that there is
