That escalated quickly.

That escalated quickly.

Actually, the security guard never takes his hand off him so, again, no.

The hilarious thing is ESPN now publishes mealy mouthed bullshit from someone they’re paying to “vet” content, which is probably the biggest joke of all.

I mean, both these guys are morons, but the heckler sat down b/c he was shoved backward into his seat. It’s right there in the video.

You’re facing a wrongful death suit based on your inability to control your emotions and you head up into the stands to confront a drunken heckler?

I really do enjoy it when an angry ranter slides in a “they don’t mean nothing’/we don’t care about them.”

Nope, at this point, it’s just ESPN.

That system does little to alleviate the market forces you previously referenced b/c you’re still paying them so far below market value (i.e. the black labor market would still exist) and still fails their long-term well-being by ignoring any sort of enrichment beyond that which is football-related.

Hold up, isn’t this precisely what turtles are NOT supposed to do?!?!

Yeah, I get it. I’m saying what do you advocate paying them?

I don’t necessarily disagree with that, but you’re essentially pointing out that my solution is not perfect.

That’s fine, but then you’re advocating a break between college athletics and college, which I’ve already said would be a better solution than the status quo.

Yeah, yeah, I’m racist b/c I think there’s real value in an actual college education and that handing young kids a wad of cash might not solve more problems than it creates.

What are you advocating?

The idea that players are not currently compensated is predicated on the idea that their scholarships aren’t really worth anything. This is a valid point b/c players can’t really be expected to balance the 40+ hours of time they must commit to football/basketball (maybe others, too) with a meaningful academic load.

You’ve made no counterarguments.

There are no sane people in the room. One half demands there is nothing wrong with the status quo and the other half demands that what-should-be-amateur athletes get paid b/c the “amateur” part is an outright lie.

I have absolutely, 100 percent NOT made my mind up.

Yeah, yeah Cris Carter is a shithead, but what about the three other people on set who just sat there and pull him up on his shitheadedness?
