Keep 'em coming…
Maybe we'll do a comment-board favorites list next week, with streaming audio or downloads.

Actually, he provided two hip-hop tracks. Cool Kids!

We're trying to build ZMF's excitement up to unsustainable levels. Then we're gonna invite him over to test Death Rain with us! (But seriously, we _are_ going to try those at some point — but we've got DRANK and some other stuff first!)

I love…
Everything Eef Barzelay touches is an A+ in my book, including this record. Lots of great songs.

Yes, yes, yes. Totally ridiculous. The guy setting a giant lawnmower in motion and then laying down in front of it is just slightly less silly.

I appreciate your comments, Bago Man. I'd definitely recommend giving American Movie another shot, especially since you said you haven't seen it since it came out. Maybe you'll find something different in it, maybe not.

The quote is actually from Dancing Outlaw, which—were you so inclined—you could make a much better case for being exploitive than American Movie.

Mark is not a stupid guy; if that's what some people took away from the film, they should watch it again. You're absolutely right, Feh — they're all friends, and Mark knows what the whole process was all about. He might never finish his film, but that's not really the point. Here's an interview I did with him in 2002:

1. Don't get your hopes too high.
2. Wait for cable.
3. Be pleasantly surprised.

In defense of Zohan (ever so slightly)
If you hate all things Adam Sandler, you'll obviously hate it. It's totally ridiculous. But it's definitely the best comedic Sandler movie since Happy Gilmore, exactly because it's so over the top. And Smigel is funny in it, as is Turturro. I'd give it a B-, and I think Nathan

I wasn't expecting much, but I thought Zohan was incredibly entertaining. I laughed a lot. There's no doubt that it's the best Sandler comedy in ages, probably since Happy Gilmore. If you're a Sandler hater, it won't do anything for you, but it's gloriously over the top. No, it's not a "great film," but joke after

I'm gonna stick with "Oh, you poor thing." But I'll add this: Maybe something posted today or tomorrow or next week will be more to bergie's liking. I thought some of this was pretty funny myself. A bit hard to hear Chris asking questions, but not impossible—and it was actually filmed and recorded by some sort of pro

Oh you poor thing!

Nice job, Sean.
I don't want to rain on anybody's firsties here, but I do want to say, "Nice job, Sean." This was really fun and incredibly thorough.

Nathan's seeing it right now! Review should be up tomorrow.

Actually, my much longer version of this answer went on at length about how we shouldn't necessarily equate Britney and Madonna. I don't think Madonna's done anything terribly worthwhile in years, but you're right, they're not the same.

Just for honesty's sake. Neither mom nor the PO would mind. But in case hardcore stoners out there can't take my opinion seriously because I'm not in the right frame of mind, y'know?

I'm a big fan
I'm a big fan, and I'd put this up there with Take Fountain. It's not nearly as good as their best, but it's still The Wedding Present. And with loud-ish guitars!

We're slightly behind on MOS; should be up tomorrow or the next day!

Ummm…. Boxer was #2 on our best of 2007 music list! And my person #1, as was Alligator when it came out in 2005!
