Wheels. New street wheels and tires.
Wheels. New street wheels and tires.
Great story, great metaphors!
As a diehard KTM racer and high mileage hard bag equipped Blackbird owner, I was thinking the exact same thing. Damn you KTM, quit reading my mind...
I am no photoshopper, can someone tell what effects have been likely done to this pict to make it so “colorey”?
Could make a few bucks on that one... wish it was in my area.
An 8” tree has grown between the body and rear bumper, awesome.
Something about the rooflines, this really works.
I just ache for the nostalgia in this pic. The old BFGs on Hurricanes take me all the way back, love it. Oh, and the hat!
I have spent a day in the Montana mountains on a timbersled. Believe me, it’s as fun as it looks in the videos. You can’t hill climb straight up like a snowmobile due to less hp, but you can go many places a sled cannot.
Wow. I am most surprised the valve train has held up that many miles. My orange bikes used to eat their valves every 2k or so (newer ones don’t have this issue though).
I worked as a lot monkey at a Chevy lot when those were new. The Beretta GTU was actually fun to drive and looked great for ‘88!
I tour on a 97 Blackbird, my biggest day is only 748 though. I would not have done it but I had to be back to work.
I think the wheels work because it isn’t just some cheesy plastidip job, like my car has...
If you can walk away from your bike without a double take, you probably bought the wrong bike.
Yep, its looks like a four year old somewhat bigger Maxima, argh.
This. Every time I help a friend on a mechanical fix I hear myself saying, “slow down”. Working faster doesn’t get it done sooner, it just leads to mistakes and it taking much longer. This applies to getting out from under the vehicle to get the right tool, yes it takes time, yes it helps you do it right...
During my five years as an 8-5 mechanic I volunteered for the dash jobs. Sadistic on some level I suppose but no one else wanted to do them and I knew I would be left alone for the entirety of the job. Plus if you get paid “by the book”, dash R&R jobs done smoothly pay really well!
I haven’t seen an ATK in so long that I don’t remember, awesome.
As I try to decide NP or CP this is one of my other tabs...
As someone who has been known to repair friend’s motorcycles, I have advised against “the free motorcycle” more times than I can count. “Well just get it running” they say. No and no.
