Whether you are a contractor or not doesn’t matter for something like this. You are not forced to be a Uber Black driver just like a limo driver is not forced to be a limo driver. If you don’t like one of the requirements of the job (eg have to shut up if customer requests so) then don’t take it.

Trying to paint “a preference for silence” as “class warfare” is... beyond strange. Like only the wealthy understand and appreciate the value of silence—an ever-decreasing and ever-more-rare commodity.

Or people can not drive for them.  There is that.

I drive for Uber (for beer money) and my rule is silence unless the rider starts a conversation or if they choose to sit in the front seat. If they’re in the backseat and dont say anything, I try and interact as little as possible.

I mean, I’m pretty sure that’s how a limo service can work, if you request it.

Awful episode in terms of narration, fantastic in terms of visuals.

Regarding the “Last Hearth” wall art...

I wish they had shown him with an increasing amount of snow accumulating on his person because he hadn’t moved all episode. Sometime next episode the camera should pan to a vaguely person-in-a-wheelchair shaped pile of snow in the middle of the courtyard.

It kind of almost looks like he’s upset because he knows he didn’t get all of it. Am I crazy?

Does anyone particularly like or dislike the usage of small embedded slideshows to show details?

Neither the UFC nor McGregor’s publicist issued a comment to the Times, though a rep for McGregor said, “We don’t comment on rumors.”

If it ain’t broke, break it.

It is 180° from it’s correct position. Not upside down. The downside is still pointing down.

Um, that’s not upside down, that’s oriented the wrong way. I was picturing the plastic part upside down then with the buttons installed. Not the best descriptor here.
