There's gotta be something I'm missing, because all I'm seeing from watching the video (from 1:50 and on) is a pre-launch Wiimote tech demo.

@GTA4er: One more thing; Sony didn't invent XMB. The cross media bar was used as the Windows Media Center interface before the PSP and PS3 were made.
@GTA4er: How else did you expect people to react to such flamebait? Were you expecting a cookie, perhaps?
Just curious; has there ever been an XBLA game that hasn't launched simultaneously in North America and Japan? I don't want to get too excited about the release date if its not launching here, too.
144th!
@Zunnoab: Without having played FFvsXIII, I can guarantee that Howl of the Departed (or any other song from the Lost Odyssey soundtrack) is better than any song that will be in that game. That is, unless Nobuo Uematsu is composing the music for FFvsXIII.
@litrock: So, you're saying you want some sort of Private Chat function that lets you talk to a friend or friends while you're watching a movie? That's crazy talk!
@HellKaiser: Hironobu Sakaguchi made Final Fantasy, was involved with the series up to FFX, left Square-Enix, and started Mistwalker and made Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.
@HellKaiser: BioShock and Lost Planet aren't part of an established series of games like GTA IV, DMC4, and FFXIII are. Also, stop with that "red eye of death" crap; its unnecessary.
@Detre: First of all, Lost Planet isn't an RPG. You're thinking of Lost Odyssey. Second, JRPGs are niche genre, so 700k is a lot of copies sold when it comes to JRPGs, especially since Lost Odyssey is not Final Fantasy, nor is it part of a JRPG series.
@Elijah Man: There are two things wrong with the situation, though.
@zag011: "the 360 version will be cut down as MS doesn't like any games to be on more than 1 disk."
@DarkLuigi: I forgot to add that none of those franchises were ever owned by a first-party.
@DarkLuigi: Since when was FF a Sony franchise? You do know that Sony doesn't actually make FF games, right? They don't even publish them.
@tehFluffz: It sounds to me like you're against the idea of posting intelligent comments. I agree with Mendes, which is why I don't post on Kotaku daily; most of the news they post doesn't really appeal to me.
@Candlejack: Pretty much what I was gonna tell him. Also, I'd like to point out that .mp3s are compressed .cda files. I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference, so there shouldn't be a huge difference between the compressed audio on the 360 version compared to the uncompressed audio of the PS3 version.
@SG79: The wording at the end of the trailer suggests that its coming to the Xbox 360 on the same day as the PS3. Otherwise, the wording would have been "Simultaneous release in North America and Europe" like with the trailer for The Last Remnant.
@EvilFiek: I saw a rerun of the press conference on G4. When the FFXIII trailer came up, there was a message on the screen that said that the camera angle was set according to Microsoft's wishes. I wonder why MS would decided to go with that angle, though. O_o
So, did you guys know that it was FFXIII as soon as you saw Lightning? Also, did you guys pretty much expect this announcement when Wada "interrupted" Don?
I'm not a big NIN fan, so I haven't heard of any of those songs. I'd pay 440 points for just Hurt, though.
