I used to buy necco wafers as at 30 cents, it was the cheapest candy at the self-checkouts at a nearby grocery store. I didn’t have a local bank account, so getting cash back on a 30c purchase was better than a $3 ATM fee. Of course, if I actually needed groceries, I would skip the wafers and just do my shopping.
