Powerful people are more able to break norms. But when norms break, they break from the top - powerful people break them, which makes it easier for less powerful people to break them to. People model their behaviour on role models, and a popular, rich, handsome, successful, powerful man like Will Smith is going to be

Traditionally, ableism has specifically been discrimination on the basis of disability, not just bullying people for looking different (that’s just ‘bullying’). Being bald is not a disability, and it’s insulting both to disabled people AND  to bald people to claim that it is.

Well, a certain former president to date has been able to get away with a lot so a lot of other people have *thought* they could get away with the same sort of thing and are finding out that they in fact cannot. They still stupidly felt empowered enough to try first, though which is the concern.

Forget it Jake, it’s AV Club Editorstown

I remember reading reviews of the premiere episodes of Breaking Bad and Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job in the paper edition of the AV Club. Man, that takes me back...

She wishes she was an Elf.

Times were different then. A mere 17 years had passed since Jill Sobule scored a minor cancellation for the song “I Kissed a Girl,” and 4 years since Katy Perry’s completely different song called “I Kissed a Girl” hit #1 on the cancellation charts.

That’s always bothered me about gun customization in games. They always design the side or somewhere the player doesn’t even see. Like if you plan on doing that, atleast make a cool reload animation that shows it off so they player can admire it every now and then.

So, a “force-piss-mist,” if you will.

Pretty sure it’s Star Wars: the book of boba fett

I think it’s even worse than that. While becoming a Jedi, Luke learns he has a sister. He then takes a fledgling friendship and deepens the attachment. Wut?

Also Covid has fucked with filming.

I don’t get why this isn’t just in Season 3 of the Mandalorian, and why Boba’s story has been sidelined?

It is so utterly weird that it is Ahsoka Tano, of all the characters in Star Wars history, who is espousing this nonsense also.

Man, the Star Wars universe keeps getting smaller and less interesting with each successive cameo and touch of fanservice. Both the Pyke syndicate’s enforcer and Boba Fett’s hired guns are all people who have directly interacted with Luke Skywalker or Ben Kenobi. All so they can fight a war over control of a worthless
