i think because in general,the characters in the show do not equate zombie existence as any kind of equivalent to human existence.if anything,i think if you cared about the person and others,that letting them be a zombie would be a cruel hell and not a nifty poetic ending.

i agree that the show works best if you re-classify it as something other than what is intended.for me,if they just focused soley on michonne,the show would work ten times better.
