The transmissions were so-so, but you must be talking about the 2.8L as being “garbage”. The 4.3L was actually pretty stout, since it’s just a 5.7L 350 with the last two cylinders lopped off.

A lot of people weigh their truck/trailer combination to make sure they are safe/ have the correct tongue weight/ havent exceeded any listed capacities.
