Sorry, I wasn’t trying to spin anything. I was being sincere, and, I believed, nice.

Okay, but recognitions was focusing on the use of the word ‘c*nt’ (a word, I hasten to add, I don’t personally approve of) rather than the more serious charges you outline.

You’re the biggest troll here (I can’t believe I once defended you).

I’ve got some mixed feelings about the Get Out nominations, because although I think the film deserves them, there have been many other equally good and even superior genre films that have been ignored by the Academy in previous years.

I love that this year the academy (usually one with a stick up it’s ass) nominated Get Out. I love that movie and seeing so many nominations makes me really happy. Good on you Academy! Finally removing that stick.

Let’s please stop conflating talent with decency.

Get Out was so good that the Academy gave a horror comedy, two of their most neglected and disliked genres, a nomination for best picture.

The Academy Awards are awarded for art (or at least they used to be). Not politics.

It’s so good... you’d think that BOTH mockumentary and vampire tropes have been too worn out to provide anything new, but the comedy felt really fresh to me. It hit that FOTC-style sweet spot of deadpan wit and emotional warmth.

I was genuinely shocked by how much it made me laugh, as I find mockumentary a very mixed bag of a genre, but yeah, it’s head and shoulders above most comedies I’ve seen recently.

I just saw it for the first time last week, after having really enjoyed Ragnarok, and it’s the most I’ve laughed at a comedy in years.

The Babe.com story in no way requires a years-long retreat from public life. Most people in the #MeToo world agree with that. The sum total of allegations against Ansari is one shitty date where he was a pushy horny asshole. That is not sexual assault or workplace harassment. Men should be held to a higher standard

yeah I thought Jessica Chastain did as good of a job as you could with what she was given, and as someone else in the comments pointed out, she genuinely seemed to be having fun and put her all into it. If grading her performance I’d have no problem dropping a B+ or A- on her. But the show in general? Nah.

I am stunned by the review because I also thought this episode was beyond weak. Even the audience seemed to be apathetic to most of the sketches, as it was the quietest I’ve heard it in some time.

C is generous. Update was good. Fresh Prince was okay. I’m always amused by Chad but there wasn’t much there and the restaurant and Amazon sketches had potential but died. Music was mediocre.

And the cool host tried her hardest! These grades are just off the wall. It’s as if humor plays no part in this show’s quality. It’s more about how the material treats social issues, and how those decisions are either right or wrong. Never forget, objective number one for this show should always be to get laughs, and

that Fresh Prince sketch went about 90 seconds too long, which seems to be a Seth MacFarlane-level problem SNL writers can’t figure out -not understanding when a joke is over.

But they wore timely t-shirts durin the monologue!

I don’t trust your grading, though.

B+?? wth?? I disagree. I thought this was another bland episode. It was a C for me. I liked the “What Even Matter Anymore” sketch and that is it. The Fresh prince one was funny half the way for me. I barely giggled throughout everything else. This episode just felt off.
