I guess with longer careers, higher salaries, and lower pensions it is less of a concern in the NBA but I know in the NFL when a player holds out there is a certain week he has to come back before otherwise the year of service doesn’t count towards his pension

where i grew up most calls about unarmed went unanswered or took hours for a response. so if the kids playing basketball after dark really bothered someone then knew to add “i think i saw a knife” to get a response. sad but true
