The one thing is, there is literally a galaxy’s worth of space in which to hide things in Elite. It makes the idea of discovering stuff like this truly daunting.

That’s just the in-game GalNet explanation. Apparently it goes: morse code of sets in the pattern AB,BC,CA, which if plotted out on a coordinate plane makes a set of triangles as shown above, I think?

Keep it up! I’ve played for 11 months now and I’ve got it mostly squared, but I was terrible at the start. One trick I recently learned is that the docking bays always face the planet, so on approach, take a vector between the station and the planet and loop in. Saves a bit of time and effort.

The objects emit audio signals in Morse Code. The players decoded the Morse Code into sequences of letters.

I love when games hide “Easter Eggs” in games like this. Makes the discovery its own reward.

Actually after you beat the game you get that outfit in the first picture. I took this picture in the Mad Max capture mode.

But he didn’t Fulton extract him through the hole in the ceiling. I’m sad.

Floyd isn’t holding Back+Down and constantly backdashing... 1/10.

Anyone else find the same thing? I’ve had friends and colleagues who have come around on everything from Call of Duty (with Advanced Warfare) to Civilization (V).

Mad Max game in 2015!? Who would have thought, at least it is enjoyable enough for most people, like Batman and Shadow of Mordor. Are we witnessing a new age of movies with good games? (Lets see if Battlefront can do it also) Great point urabutln, this game looks and sounds like a ton of open world games out today, it

I share this sentiment exactly. Chris definitely knows his stuff, but I never see eye to eye with him ever (looking at his NYT “The Last of Us” review).

Your logic is pretty strong. I never thought of it that way before. I will try to find reviewers on both ends of the spectrum. And use that for consistency. I used to just read or watch a bunch of different reviews and go off that. Seems like a fun game overall. I think the reviewer nit picked a little. Great post!!

I find this review interesting because IGN gave it an 8.4 and said it was one of the best games in recent memory.

HAHA! Indeed.

I got it last night, I’ve only played a few hours, but am enjoying it. I can see validity to some of his points, but for me, it’s fun.

I follow Chris’s reviews because he is incredibly valuable to me - I almost never agree with him. I wish people would understand that a reviewer with different tastes than you isn’t “wrong” - they’re just as necessary to identify as reviewers who share your taste to a T.

Getting rick rolled since 2006.

Sooo, how much alcohol WAS in your blood? lol.

I thought it was a near-perfect representation of the source material. Ray Stevenson was awesome.
