My 08 is still on original engine with little outside of normal wear and tear items. That said, Coil’s every 30k are considered normal wear and tear on this car...
you have to beg for it when profitability rests in beating the national average which generally hovers around 95%... it’s honestly pathetic. it’s such a flawed and stupid system.
it’s such a messed up system. I wish the games didn’t have to be played, but when the difference between profitability and a business losing money rests on beating the national average(usually 96% or HIGHER) there is no choice but to play stupid games.

This is already playing out with the Chevy Cruze and it’s 1.4T which can have major problems before 100k... Oil leaks, Head problems, turbo problems... it’s a mess...

Holdback isn’t a huge number, generally between 1.5-3% of MSRP less Freight. So on mainstream cars, you are looking at between $250 and 1000. Performance goals can bring another $400-1000.
This post is spot on. Most new Car dealerships sales departments run at a loss, BEFORE LABOR, but every other operation runs at a profit and makes up for it.
