je-sus. i had held off watching this but binged the first 5 with a couple friends last friday (and a bottle of four roses)...and these are my most-mcu-friendly friends i have...and wow we hated it. absolutely the worst thing the mcu has released, even worse than things i think are more poorly made. just sooo fucking

“I’m sure, once these right-wing weirdos are presented with clear facts and evidence, they’ll drop their obviously incorrect belief!”

I’m five episodes into reading these recaps and I still have no idea who Olivia Colman is playing.

Everything Everywhere All at Once was a completely different and altogether better film, but it has nothing to do with the conversation other than to compare films with multiverses. What does this other film have to do with Hayley Atwell?

This is the closest to real journalism as the AV Club has done in a while.

For every wealthy actor, there are hundreds if not thousands of working actors who dont make that much.  Plenty of them waiting tables and working odd jobs to scape by.

If Rhea Seehorn doesn’t win an Emmy this time, I’m gonna... grumble silently and try to remind myself that they are about as important as the Grammys.

It does consistently baffle me that you can show people hearts ripped out of their chests to 13 year olds, but you have to be 17 to see boobs (unless you have an internet connection).

All I know is that it made Enola gay.

And the anti-Oppenheimer movie, Barbie, also features copious nudity of its female and male leads, but since they’re Barbie and Ken that didn’t require an R rating.

Is he packing a Fat Man or a Little Boy?

(Oppenheimer pulls his pants down)

replacing work that could be done by a person with an A.I. is a terrible, terrible trend, and if we allow it to continue then it’s just a matter of time before artists and writers start being replaced. If we value TV and movies at all, if we value thoughtful criticism of TV and movies at all, then we cannot allow it

I’m not gonna lie, I kinda need a previous MCU character to be a secret Skrull really soon or I’m gonna lose interest.

Question: Given that MCU Earth has been invaded by aliens at least twice that people know of, and all the other wacky shit that’s happened, how hard should it really be to convince people that Gravik’s machinations to stir up global tension are an alien psy-op? Should that not be the default assumption at this point?

Full circle

Lets hope it is better than the attempt to turn a paragraph into a slide show

For Lead Actor in a Drama, Kieran Culkin hands down! He was amazing in Succession season 3. As good as Jeremy Strong was in earlier seasons. I love Brian Cox but he should not be in the lead category for season 3.

It sucks that Hill maybe sidelined forever now, but I actually hope it’s not a ruse. As you note, it’s a ruse that’s been used already and it would come off as less of a callback to Winter Soldier and more of a lack of creativity.

Recaps are a poor substitute for reviews.
