Lily James is much better? I feel like every time I see her in a movie she looks like an actor acting as opposed to an actual character. She had a monologue in “Little Woods” that I still remember as being particularly terrible.

I’m only VERY mildly impressed with his ingenuity though. He spent $20 to buy the port and glued(?) it onto his Jeep, then proceeded to save himself roughly $20 ($250/12) for a month of parking before outing himself. So at the end of the month he’s essentially saved himself nothing and now he has a fake (and pretty

Any word on Antlers?

Also the handmaids are too valuable to kill so they’re being sent to a breeding camp, but as soon as they escape the driver/guard just starts shooting them? That guy is definitely out of a job.

I bought this for my son and I to do together someday. He’s only 8 months old though, so I still have a long time to wait but I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully he enjoys it as well.

Definitely skip reading his other novel. Reading ‘Artemis’ has actually changed how fondly I remember ‘The Martian’, very much for the worse. In fact I just followed the link in this article to the ‘Artemis’ review from 2017 and it confirmed that the book was just as cringe inducing as I remember. Copy/pasting Weir’s

Ok how ‘bout this: we find some ex-con oil rig workers, quickly train them to be astronauts (real astronauts could never learn to drill quickly enough), teach them some sweet Aerosmith songs, then blast them off towards the asteroid for all sorts of fun space hijinks involving nukes

Ok what if the future people go back in time to grab bodies to bring to the future to fight and then they put all those people back into their former timeline with their new skills and experience to prepare for the coming invasion? That’s a win-win right? Also, this looks stupid.

A MAN A PLAN A CANAL PANAMA

I’m still confused as to why it says “Evergreen” on the side but “Ever Given” on the back.

In what way is a miles driven tax more equitable than a gas tax? I’d expect that they would be roughly equivalent for an ICE driven vehicle, all else held equal.

My complaint was that later in the episode after the Flag Smashers kill Lemar Hoskins they just panic and leave. Like what was the point of all the fighting and trying to kill Captain America and crew if when you actually succeed you feel bad and run off? Makes no sense.

Ok well don’t spoil the ending for me please.

I haven’t seen Flight 93, but I think the difference would be that the passengers on Flight 93 were aware of what was going on and tried to fight back while the astronauts aboard Challenger were just bystanders to the catastrophe.

I think generally you don’t want your movie to end with the entire crew suddenly dying. There’s a pretty good documentary on Netflix about Challenger though, it’s about one episode too long in my opinion but still worth a watch (‘Challenger: Final Flight’).

It reminded me of the clown luring the boy over to the sewer in IT.

I’d take a heated steering wheel over a heated seat any day. My butt will warm a cold seat in a few minutes but my hands take a lot longer to warm a cold steering wheel on their own.

Yea that’s definitely an argument that could be made (that people act like they are already doing their part.) One could also argue that doing something, even if it is very small, is better than doing nothing (i.e eating meat 6 days a week instead of 7, using a paper grocery bag instead of plastic, or omitting

I’ve always thought the plastic straw issue gets highlighted so often because it’s so simple, just don’t use plastic straws. It’s a small change that anyone can make very easily and maybe will spur people to look at what additional small changes they can make in their lives to prevent waste.

I made it through the first hour or so of this on the treadmill last week. The only real takeaway for me was that “dolphin safe” is self reported and likely doesn’t mean much. Once they got to the part where he was trying to make the interviewed experts agree that “the best course of action would be to stop eating
