OSX, in the end is UNIX. Almost anything in OSX can be hacked from command line or by editing a text file. It is the main reason I switched to Mac. Ruin that and I'll be on a reluctant ship to Linux land.

I have a (previous gen) MacMini attached to my HDTV and I have to say that the setup is just about perfect. If Apple had only added the option of BluRay to the new version I would have gladly shelled out the money once more.
