There's a difference between saying we could do more to encourage people to exercise and saying that people are making excuses not to exercise. For instance, building pedestrian-friendly public spaces and more parks and cycle-ways encourages people to exercise. Likewise, making fat people feel welcome in the gym or

I agree. I was at my thinnest when I was eating the worst foods. I know women that "look" obese that are some of the healthiest women I know - they eat great diets, they exercise, they have great blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels - this just happens to be where their body is comfortable at. Throw

Then why bring it up if it has no relation to what demolitionwoman said? I could say that if SOMEONE uses a fear of sharks in the pool as an excuse not to swim laps it'd be pretty weak but that would be an insane thing to say because no one has made that excuse on this thread.

I was on my bicycle at an intersection the other day, and some guys pulled up next to me in a truck. They promptly began mocking my weight and my choice in clothing (I was on my way to work wearing a skirt, which I had to hike up so it wouldn't get caught in the chain). Oddly enough they weren't exactly slender either.

I agree there is a problem, but concern trolling and body shaming will not help it. As it is often said, if shaming worked, there'd be nobody with unhealthy habits.

I can do absolutely no cardio except walking without wearing a sports bra due to the size of my chest. Any rapid movement makes those puppies bounce around and hurt like hell.

I was amazed the first time I put on a sports bra and worked out. It was something like "Wait, what? I don't have to clutch at my chest while

Oh man, finding a sports bra that fits and does its job is such a pain in the ass.....as is wearing multiple bras in order to go out for a simple run. I do NOT want to hold my boobs while I run and would kill to find a supportive and excellent fitting sports bra.

Seriously? You think society is afraid to tell people they're overweight? There is backlash against bullying people for their weight, but there is no shortage of people in society (media, doctors, asses on the street) who are afraid to tell someone that they're fat and need to lose weight. I mean, look at you. You

Besides the fact that you don't know me and have no idea how much I do or don't exercise, why is it any of your business why or why not somebody exercises? It's not, and you need to get the fuck over yourself. I am so fucking tired of people concern trolling.

Herion addicts are rarely socially functioning. Fat people can function perfectly well in society.

Are you new to the world? It's because body size does not necessarily indicate health, and body shaming is wrong. Concern-trolling isn't cool, and your opinion on this matter is not welcome if that's what you're trying to do.

I'm in a UK HH cup. If I wore a regular bra to exercise in, I would be in a lot of pain. Just because you did it doesn't mean everybody else wants to. Believe it or not, people are different! They have different bodies! Woah!

There is pretty much no form of exercise that will get your heart rate up that will not require a sportsbra if you have large enough breasts. Except swimming. But comments on articles like this about how gross fat ladies are really don't encourage them to do a few laps at the local pool.

But pretty much every model would be underweight according to BMI (which is bullshit, but people use it at fat people all the time) and you don't see it mentioned on every single article about models in general. But 'health' comes up in every article about plus size clothing or models.

Do you know how boobs work?

If you think that healthy eating is synonymous with being thin, or even non obese, you have a huge amount of research you should do.

It's about support when jogging. If you don't have enough support you will do serious damage to your breast tissue. How do you not know that sports bras are designed differently to regular bras?

Smithvml is another person who looks at a huge societal problem like the health impacts of our food/work/exercise culture and decides that it's all entirely up to individuals to deal with. And that we should shout at them until they make themselves acceptable. Blergh.

Finding sports bras in one's actual size could be a legitimate issue, you know.

Yes, you do mean to sound like a super bitch, or you wouldn't have said it. It's not even just fashion (because in that case, I'd never wear 90% of workout clothes, regardless of size), it's fit and comfort and my ass deserves that at size 22 or any other size.
