I have my 160GB iPod Classic full of music... and that’s not even my entire music collection (which is closer to 2 TB at home). Whatever amount of storage you’ve got, it can be filled quickly.

What a fucking stupid thing to say about a true multimedia device when music iPods were 20GBs in 2003 and 160GB in 2007!
Just record a few videos.
4K video recording will fill up your phone faster than you realize.

i have my entire music library on my phone:
I’m a light user and have the 64GB 6s Plus. I have about 11GB of music, no movies, and I’d say less than average number of apps compared to the next iPhone user.

I mean, it worked on me. The only way I could buy Story of Your Life to read it was through the collection of his short stories. I read all of them and loved all of them.
I think you’re right. But if it gets some people to read Chiang who otherwise wouldn’t, that’ll be a good thing.
From the trailer, it appears to head towards a standard action-based third act. It reminded me more of ID4 and The Abyss, but I’ll be happy if that’s not what happens. I just read the short story last week, and am curious about how they’re going to do the adaptation as well. Like, will they even bother with the personal life passages?
One of the things I really liked about the short story is that it subverted a number of first contact tropes.
Lots of reporters have been asking about him and that windup, to the point that everyone is sick of it. Fellow reliever Alexi Ogando has refused to answer any further questions.
