@vinod1978: No but thats just it: information is stored on the device. if the device isnt secured the app wont help much

@vinod1978: Its one thing to run a secure app, if you cant make the OS itself more secure then its like running Windows without an anti-virus program. Only in this case it would be worse, rather than stealing money and passwords it will be stealing battle plans and tactics.

@minibeardeath: Dont get the wrong idea, i'm not trying to be a Linux/Android troll. Actually im typing this up

@minibeardeath: Exactly: enough MONEY. That could be thousands of dollars. Android wouldnt cost a cent. The part you included about not taking risks could be seen as a downside. Why would you want something that doesnt support the best hardware/software? (no 4g support for ios)

@vinod1978: its not just apps that are closed off, its the os itself. The DOD wouldnt be able to modify it for greater security or any other means they see fit.

@stevenjcarney: or the beginig of a new type of bird-related warfare

@jepzilla: I agree. I cant see them using iPhones with how closed off and unmodifiable the IOS is.

@ugar: Thanks for showing me these. Ive never really paid attention to The Woz before this article and he seems like a really cool guy. Next to him steve looks like an evil dictator.

Come watch a movie with me in my small windowless trail-... i mean, movie theater.

What does steve jobs think of Woz i wonder?

@doomed13: True. And i dont believe apple ever got in trouble for that.

@Ian Logsdon: I was thinking that since the apps can take up the entire screen it could be launched like a normal version of FF.
