I have to admit that if I'd realized last week that the review would be posted on Memorial Day, I might have been a little less flip than "It's war, guys. You're going to take a few knocks." (Maybe something along the lines of, "It's war, guys. You're going to take a few knocks while making a solemn sacrifice for your

Bethesda just announced that they'll be releasing the three existing Fallout expansions on PS3 over the summer months, and two new bits of Fallout DLC will also make their way to PS3 by the end of the year (a little while after Xbox gets them). So problem solved, eventually.

But did they electrocute robots?

Ahoola — with Broken Steel installed, a couple of the companions (Fawkes being one of them) can be convinced to enter the chamber and do your dirty work.

I was under the impression that the radiation spike was so severe that you still die if you send Lyons in — you just get "wuss" added to your epitaph. I think the ending movie is ambiguous on this point, or maybe I just missed something.

The escape from the revolutionaries is a brief tutorial mission at the beginning of the game, but most of the Cuba action takes place post-revolution. It diverges from the film's plot, and it's the most interesting portion of the game in narrative terms. That's no coincidence. When the game delves into scenes that ape

Ditto, I stopped being interested as soon as I heard the GBA slot is gone. I realize the GBA platform has to die sometime, but I'm not ready yet, dammit.

The first draft of my "Beyond the game" was, in essence, "No, this isn't a Professor Layton clone, but yes, you can be forgiven for thinking it is."

Yeah, that's true. The blocks keep piling up on the bottom while you're playing the top. I guess by saying that the "action" pauses, I meant that you never have to play both at once like you did in TWEWY.

The action on the top screen pauses when you switch to the bottom screen (and vice versa, obviously).

Thank you for all these comments; they mean a lot to me. We hope to do more stuff like this in 2009.

Probably posting it at midnight on a Friday was not my best move, but I was freaking exhausted and not thinking about such things.

Touche.

Hey, Simon! No, you didn't kick him off stage, but you did take the mic during his rant session, which I thought was a pretty odd moment. I'm not saying you were necessarily in the wrong, because Phil's speech was getting kind of out there (on the other hand, it was a "rant" session), but it was weird.

Ha — I actually thought of you as I was sitting through that business thing, which was fortunately only a half hour. You did warn me, but in this case, there was no avoiding it.

I'm pretty sure Chris is meeting with them, but not 100% sure.

I plan to avoid the business strategy stuff all week. Today I'm mostly continuing to follow the indie thread; Wednesday and Thursday will be more packed with news on both the mainstream and indie sides. I also hope to play and share impressions of as many of the Independent Games Finalists as I can.

Erik posted while I was typing, but he nailed it.

You wouldn't pay for that?

Purho didn't come off as a prima donna, quite the opposite (although I see how you could read it that way). He's an amiable, brilliant guy; he's just self-effacing a little too hard on himself. He admitted that his original vision for the game was overly ambitious, and was frank about how he failed to meet that
