16 years ago I was a D1 athlete. Background checks were not standard practice at that time at least. I asked a friend who is a recruiter and asst coach for a Big12 team and background checks are still not standard. He said they only run them for kids with known issues.

I legitimately just tried to buy that Evo that is listed above after reading this. 1- not located in DFW, it’s in California. 2- You have to finance it, they wont take my cash. 3- to get someone on the phone, I had to fill out the pre-approval paperwork (used BS info ie: the SSN of 123 45 6789)
