Ok you got me. I was only thinking of the murder plot. I did not remember that all of those things were in S2.
I think saying S2 sucks is unfair. I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater because of one rotten apple of a storyline.
As a sidenote: Comedy Vs. Drama. I feel like there should be at least one more category. I.E. Thriller/Mystery/etc…
As a sidenote, It's funny how My so-called life is the only drama on your list which is not workplace based (esp. hospital/polics) and is not much more than a (grossly underrated) cult classic.
I love the Twilight Zone too but it's pretty far from what I would call a drama both in content and structure.
This might sound like I'm trying to reduce the "eligibility", but aren't Twin Peaks and The X-Files more mystery/thriller than drama?
May I add that what I appreciate the most with FNL is its starkness, its honesty and how mundane everything feels.
I was hesitating to put that into the FYI. The West Wing is admirable in many ways but does not elicit much in the way of emotions for me.
