Honestly, I have to get this off my chest... my love of the automotive industry is what turned me away from the right-wing.

I was massively GOP for a long time, thanks to my father. He was a Limbaugh/Drudge/FoxNews addict. Otherwise a good, decent man, but a lifetime of believing right-wing propaganda. I, personally,

My fleet includes a 2000 BMW 528i 5MT with 174K miles, a 2010 Range Rover Supercharged with 147K miles, and a 2013 Audi A8L 4.0T with 125K miles. On all three, the steering wheels are flawless.

Based on my engineering experience, I think there is a 98% chance it went something like this:

I can’t speak for everyone, obviously, but for 90% of the driving I do, a tiny electric vehicle would be plenty.  Just need some room for groceries and maybe a 50 mile range.  I work from home and very rarely travel outside of my own town limits.  This is why the thought of paying 50k for an electric vehicle irritates

According to Reuters, the Tesla chief hopes the software will finally be ready by the end of 2022.

Although ironically there’s an article here on Jalopnik today about how amazing it is, you forgot one of the best-looking cars ever made — the BMW E9. I mean, come on, look at this thing!

As a Canadian, I have been disappointed in Canada for the last 4 years.

Everybody gripes about the clickbait articles on Jalop, but the real enthusiast stuff like this doesn't seem to generate many comments, so...anyway, thanks for posting this, keep the stories like it coming.  E9 is on my bucket list, unfortunately, as a tail end boomer, the front and middle end generational cohorts

The Lotus Esprit established the company as a competitor to Porsche and Ferrari. It was one of the best looking wedge cars to go into production, and it stayed in production for 28 years. It’s hard to tell that it’s made from various Fiat and Morris lights and switches and probably very few of its own parts.

Just don’t burn the evidence. Bad for the car, worse for any reporters around.

gorgeous car.

I can’t help but think that the only ones you pan fried got an unfair advantage.

OK.
I’ve read some of the other comments, and while I understand the negative ones, and indeed, this is a high price, if I take into account that this one runs, and has much of the work done on it that I’d need to do if I purchased one many thousands of dollars cheaper, this is a nice price for me, because: I want one.

Unfortunately most of them do look like dog poops

Oh and holy cow, if you click through, the seller really HAS done a ton of work. Real work, not just “oil has been changed and new Hankooks”.

They should’ve extolled the fact that they had a great carry on plan. Imagine a commercial with oversized bags singing “Take on me. Take me on” with the company logo appearing center screen.

NOT the Pagoda (which is the MB in the other photos). I think it’s a 300sl, circa ~ ‘57. Wouldn’t throw it out of the garage either, but the 280 is the real deal, IMO the epitome of the breed.

The hippies may have all been roaming around the US in VW vans (what other choice did they have?), but in Europe they had a LOT more choices. I am sure some Euro Bohos were driving around France sucking on Galoises while driving these bad boys:

Why didn’t they call it Hipp-E”?

As a photographer, the header photo isn’t terrible. It’s not great either. I’d say it’s generally.... fine, if a bit underexposed. At a photo either pre-dawn or edging past dusk, it’s to be expected they are going for an understated look. Maybe a 1/3 of a stop more exposure on her, but the more I look at it, the more
