Absolutely no way in hell it will ever happen though - Byrne actively avoids even mentioning Frantz and Weymouth’s *names* in interviews if he can help it. Too much bad blood, not enough incentive.

yup I agree with all that - like yourself, Byrne has been instrumental in pointing the way to a lot of interesting music (and ideas) over the years.
I’m a huge Talking Heads/David Byrne fan, but he lost his edge a long time ago - there’s nothing wrong with that, we all peak and decline, and Byrne’s peak was loftier than most.
Tina Weymouth herself wrote something whacky a few years back which contained virtually every known Talking Heads song title .... it wasn’t very amusing ..
I never stopped!
While we’re at it, there are strong similarities between Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’ and ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ .. but enough difference for them to get away with it ..
that was pretty much my issue (not that I was vocal - a couple of comments, sure ..) - just not very funny ... if that were to change or I was to encounter some media in which she was plain funny, my opinion would change.
you write? tell us more!
Right - so can we have our Jake and the Fatman reboot or what?
This is a frighteningly small step away from some smart guy deciding that ‘Jake and the Fatman’ still has something to say to today’s audiences.
an Elite Dad Performance would’ve seen LeBron actually convince his daughter that a slice of carrot, or celery was an adequate substitute for ‘candy’.
good call, that scene was a delight.
I’m not sure why the AV club wants to take on so many political stances full stop; it was once a site that focused purely on pop culture - I’m not sure if it really knows what it wants to be anymore .. if I want to educate myself on gender inequality, scandals or political unrest I go *elsewhere*.
I like the Good Place, to an extent.
I concur (word-a-day calendar)
the Coen brothers *have* decided to make a tv series; cannot wait for it to drop!
I held out for ages because frankly I’m all super-heroed out.
yeah I’m with you - I did like the Good Place, but it was all a lil’ twee and the humour quickly became pretty predictable because the characters are so two dimensional. I’m up to date and it was definitely an easy and breezy watch, but I’m not all that invested ..
Yep; Bob’s Burgers, the Simpsons of course too ... don’t wanna get too pissy re: the Good Place, but honestly I didn’t even think the signage jokes were even all that strong ..
hardly ever!
