“Small immediate annoyance” has been Rand’s nickname for years.
“Small immediate annoyance” has been Rand’s nickname for years.
My favorite quote in all of this was the neighbor who said Rand “certainly believes in stronger property rights than exist in America.” As soon as I heard that everything made sense: I had simply forgotten that Rand is truly an libertarian asshole’s libertarian asshole.
He strikes me as exactly the type of asshole who mows his lawn at 5 am.
Have you ever spent time around a NEWBORN? You ever try talking to one? You ever seen one with a JOB? I’m just saying what everyone is thinking. BABIES are a complete waste.
Does anyone know where he gets his clothes? I’ve been looking for a vest that doesn’t fit properly.
And, BABIES. Don’t get me started on babies. Why are able-bodied men and women wasting their time feeding those petulant freeloaders. All they do is eat, sleep, scream, and poop. That’s not a life. We should give all those babies guns and let them decide if they are want to continue to be a drain on society. Ingrates!
I’m looking forward to finding out that this movie wasn’t filmed during Man On The Moon, but was staged recently by a desperate, still-committed-to-this-bit Jim Carrey.
“Racists gotta eat”
Why doesn’t The Root EVER report news from my backyard? It’s a place, too.
“I never owned slaves.”
“So-and-so are the real racists.” Nope, it’s you.
Link or it didn’t happen.
You might be weirded out, but I’m ashamed I didn’t know the difference. TIL.
Welcome to the club! This is the fourth season that I’ve read the reviews for, and yet I’ve never watched a single episode of AHS. It is totally worth it.
You’re not alone. I tried watching Twin Peaks for the first time when they announced the revival, expecting to love it. It always sounded interesting and right up my alley when others talked about it. I like a lot of Lynch’s other work. I even like a bunch of other things that people say are ripping off Twin Peaks…
Seriously. Out of all the shit my taxes pay for, I would be pissed if at least some of it wasn’t being used to feed hungry kids.
Yeah, I’ve never seen any of the other Universal Soldier films, but sought out Day of Reckoning based on the AVC description/recommendation (probably the same one that seems to have intrigued everybody else. I remember Van Damme and Lundgren’s characters being called “Lovecraftian.”). I figured there was no way…
Anyone else feel that this picture is a commentary on the AVClub’s switch to Kinja?
As someone who also hates Nazis and is a strident ACLU supporter and is also jewish, I completely agree with everything you wrote in your most recent post (except possibly that ridicule is the best tool—personally, I side with political mobilization of anti-extremists and economic and community development to reduce…
I’m always troubled when someone’s first response to “Hey, let’s go punch those Nazis!” is “Are you sure you should be punching Nazis?” and not “Why are there Nazis here?”
