The one about the teenager who dies in a car accident and his parents ask that, in lieu of flowers, mourners send money to buy a new car is pretty dark, too.

I never saw that one.

The scary thing is we all know that anti-choice is just the first thing in a list for these assholes.   Once they get abortion illegal, you know gay marriage is next.

Yeah, and it ignores that most people in Alabama, Georgia, etc. didn’t want these laws either, and that there are liberal enclaves there. I live near Chicago and while I hate the trope of “oh it’s so dangerous gang wars etc” I also know it’s a city with plenty of racial and social issues of its own. The North is not a

I'd forgotten how unapologetically mean turn-of-the-millenium Onion could get. That one is right up there with "suicide note filled with Simpsons quotes."

Now that I live in North Carolina I have a horse in this race, but when people dump on the The South they tend to ignore the large social problems in their own parts of The North. The Pacific Northwest is lovely and progressive, but it’s also riddled with Nazis, measles, and grotesque income inequality.

Neither of these seem particularly Savage Love-y? But OK then.

I feel exhausted just reading that first one.

Absolutely 100%. “You’re all dumb, his balls don’t even work! No I won’t apologise no I won’t ow MOOOOOM stop it’s so UNFAIR etc.”

I’m an only child so I don’t know, but may I assume that it is accurate that even when you’re being made king you can count on your big sister to tell everyone in the room how your balls don’t work?

I wouldn’t call it a cheap shock, just because it had significant repercussions for the rest of the season.

In the end, Bran let Dany go on her rampage because he knew she would make his kingdom more ADA compliant.

It’s just plain bizarre they haven’t at least offered her an episode or two by now.

I’d love to see her take a shot at a season of Doctor Who.

This first episode is a perfectly crafted gem. Owing something to its theatrical roots, the episode plays out like a theatre piece. Loved the little introduction where Fleabag fakes dad is dead and we see the strain of her rift with Claire.

Fck yes.

I love the little touch where he can somehow see Fleabag’s little asides to the audience. Like he is the only supporting character that has ever been able to hack into the lead’s internal monologue.

My favourite thing about this episode is how contrasted the Priest is to everybody else. Fleabag and her family are all bullshitting each other and hiding things beneath the surface in their interactions (some things hidden better than others), but the Priest just talks really straightforwardly and honestly, and it’s

Fleabag’s jumpsuit is one of the more memorable sartorial choices of 2019.
