My problem is my tastes vary so much that I never know what I will be in the mood for. The Kinks? Bob Dylan? I have their whole discography (and it goes on). I want the ability to carry that in a car for long trips or cross country flights.

I would pay for lossless versions of the Doors. I have paid over $30 for Doors SACD's.
I get the sense that say those under 30 think anything other then streaming is old ans obsolete. But I refuse to rent music. I need to find a replacement for Ipod Clasic 160gb for when it inevitably fails. I looked at the Pono, but hesitated because I wanted to see a track record before I invest $300 for a media…
Wasn't Phil McCracken a callback to the episode during Archer Vice when they were escaping Columbia?
What kind of man doesn't have a mustache? Asks a guy who was told when he went to see the Blackhawks play the Predators in Nashville in March that I have an "authentic Chicago mustache."
Coroner reports are public documents. You don't privacy when the state has to perform an autopsy. Nor should you if public funds were used to do so.
I thought it was a fun movie and I didn't realize Henry Cavil could act until I saw it.
Start with Ordinary Men. While it doesn't do the camps, but it gives you a sense of the sheer horror of the Nazi actions. And while its preachy and I don't agree with all its arguments, David Wyman's "The Abandonment of the Jews: America and the Holocaust 1941-1945" is a good account why we as Americans should care.
Man, that sounds like a lot of work. How do they compare to say if I picked up a volume of Charles Dickens?
Are any of these films worth checking out? Because frankly they all seemed idiotic to me, at least on the surface.
You bite your tongue. Mark Knopler is still putting out great records.
To call the J. Geils Band merely an 80s band is to sell them short. They were a kick ass electric blues band long before Love Stinks or Freeze Frame. Does the AV Club have any writers left aren't mere children?
This maybe my favorite post on this.
Kale farmers are the new Nazis.
Its a world where the president could mock Senator John McCain for his wartime service. You may disagree with his politics, but McCain is a brave son of a bitch who endured 8 years of torture while the current president got a draft deferment for being an asshole. Maybe to men like Trump and Spicer, our grandfathers…
I am already two beers in tonight because I deserved them after hiking 10 miles. The drunker I get, the more pessimistic I get. Six in, I start to wonder why my grandad sacrificed three year of his life to defeat the Nazis when this shit becomes mainstream thinking.
I may out myself but I don't give a shit. I am a professor of history that specializes in U.S. Diplomatic History. Every year (because I am a small college so I have to do European as well), I assign Christopher Browning's Ordinary Men, about a Reserve Police Battalion that became an SS Death squad. The Nazis switched…
Dear Lord, first you gave me the Cubs winning the World Series. And now you have resurrected MST3K in what maybe the greatest rising from the dead since your son did it. Please tell me you don't want my first born for payment of these miracles.
Sad to see Robert Forester slumming. But, and this is hard for me to believe, Jackie Brown was 20 years ago.
Anyone ever see No Direction Home, Martin Scorsese's documentary of Dylan's route from folk protest to rock in the 60s? I often think the genius of Dylan was he knew you could only go so far playing folk or protest music. He evolved and Baez never really did. Lovely voice still however.
