the opinion that “finger print readers on the back are inconvenient” seem to come from people who haven’t actually owned a phone like that and forget that humans have the capability to adapt. even the galaxy s8's “poor placement” isn’t bad... once you get used to it. it takes a bit, but muscle memory eventually kicks…
Android makers have simply moved the scanner to the back of the device, it’s an inelegant solution. Blindly looking for the right spot to touch on the back of your phone is a minor but crucial inconvenience compared to a quick press of the home button on the front.
Extremely well put
People are jerks sometimes. If you feel like someone is being condescending, I think you should just feel free to call them out on it. I feel like your comment is a bit condescending and I’m calling you out on it. If you feel like my reply is condescending, just say so. The term manslaining will never be taken…
Percentages? Let me “mansplain” it to you. Percentages imply numbers, numbers imply facts. Vague words like “most often” imply nothing but the bias of the author
Even if we pretend that your deliberate misreading is correct, that isn’t a contradiction. “Nobody is” and “somebody should” do not contradict each other in any way, shape, or form.
I am a gun owner and a fan of the Second Amendment, but it drives me nuts when other gun owners pretend that it is the only amendment that is not subject to reasonable restriction or regulation. I frequently get the response “what don’t you understand about ‘shall not be infringed’” as if that is some kind of…
Way to deliberately misinterpret what he had wrote. John Marshall’s Ghost wrote “Nobody’s coming for your handgun or hunting rifle.” then said “But, this idiot should have all his weapons confiscated. No one should possess any of that besides law enforcement and military.” Clearly he was referring to things like…
Cool.
“many cultures find the idea of handkerchiefs repulsive”
We just went through this with our puppy. The breeder really didn’t want the full course of vaccines (counter what people think here, there are only a few required, rabies being the big one. Most aren’t required, they’re just good practice). She believed that it could negatively affect the puppy.
That’s not true except for rabies vaccine. Though, if you want them housed at a kennel/pet hotel, they require couple of vaccines to be up to date (such as rabies and kennel cough). It is almost a known fact now that pets don’t require annual vaccinations. And veterinarians don’t refuse service if your pets don’t have…
To all you obscure iphone case designers out there, wherever you are, the answer is no. No, this does not vindicate anything. That big hole you put in the back is still stupid and counterproductive.
Counterpoint: Dressing nicely might score you a free upgrade (but very likely won’t), while dressing comfortably is a sure bet.
That’s what happens when you give a contract to Veridian Dynamics.
This show was ahead of its time. I wish it got more than 2 seasons.
This was literally the plot of an episode of Better Off Ted. Motion-sensing lights not recognizing black people.
I have a Z Wave lock on my front door and getting another for my back door. These are, in my mind, infinitely more secure than traditional locks because they tell me the current status of the lock, they tell me when they are locked or unlocked and unless the Z Wave signal is intercepted (which means someone would have…
