While I agree that FFVIII is underrated, the first of the Persona series was released a year before FFVIII even went into development. Persona was released in 1996. FFVIII went into development in '97, and wasn't released until '99, just a couple of months before Persona 2 was released.

I loved Solaris, and thought it had probably the most criminally underrated score of any film in recent memory.
