Online reviews set my teeth on edge. I work in a very busy winery that is bombarded by tourists every summer. I don’t think she went out of her way to cover it up, but she’s certainly not correcting a lot of misconceptions out there about how she got to travel in the first place. 

I want to know how many of her fans know that she got a book advance to write that book before she left.

PETA is the worst but yeah, it’s a genuinely smart move and, yeah, no reason for the patch to be leather. Maybe other, less terrible orgs can take inspiration on how to affect change in this way.

I’m not usually much of a PETAphile, but even if it makes the jeans a little cheaper, who cares if that patch is made of real leather? It never really occurred to me before now. It’s stupid. Go PETA.
