Same here! In east-central North Carolina, I see at least a couple a week—I know of a red one parked near my church every weekend, but I also see yellow, white, and other red ones fairly frequently. They tend to catch my eye because of the nose+hood scoops, which I have to say I don't much care for.

Mmm. That's a painful amount. I thought I had it bad, with an hourlong commute (each way) every day...I put 450+ miles on my car every week. Although I love driving, I'd be happy to hand it over to a system some mornings and catch another hour of sleep, or else actually get my laptop open and bill for that time. Not

Star simply for noting that as always, a Jaaag should be offered first in the best colour...BRG all the way.

Imapalas, Odysseys, Subaru Foresters, Jeep Grand Cherokees, Nissan Sentras, and Ford Fusions. There's also a Corolla supply problem, but this seems to be a result of Toyota winding down production of the old model in advance of the new one.

Fair enough. I love Jags and I love V12s, but I've so far avoided the 'cheap-XJS' money hole...

Awww, is that a V12 XJS? All that needs is replacing the Lucas electrics...

I would say slash Triumph Spitfire, except that it was obviously superior to the other two, and also faster than you'd expect out of ~60-something horsepower...

Well, and unfortunately some more of the mechanicals too. My favorite story about an unfortunate restomod Spitfire: a TR6 engine swap, which ruined the handling, and then the overeager owner slapped a small turbo on it. Nothing too aggressive, but he burned out the diff in a week. Pays to remember that the mechanicals

Pretty sure there's no way to get to 'African Dictator', and the only way to own an E-Type is if you wish to die by Lucas electrics...

P.S. Why no Triumph Spitfire? It would have fit beautifully under at least two of the best categories up there: 'Fascinated with Tow Trucks and Highway Shoulders' and 'Fake Speed Is

Hmm. Top three: Jaguar XJ220, Aston Martin DB5, and Jaguar E-Type roadster. No particular order. Of them, the E-Type is most likely my favorite (and also far likeliest to own, even in the very-small-chance zone). And while I've never seen one in person, I just found out there's a Series III Fixed-Head Coupe for sale

A Jaguar XJ220 in deep blue. On-road, off-road, far too fast, far too powerful, utterly composed and utterly classy. Insanely beautiful. I just wish it was in BRG.

The trim is also available on the CTS (with 430 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque) and, according to convos with The Detroit News, Caddy says it could expand to other models.

FWIW, a bit more checking around, and it looks like Jay Leno may have two tank-engined monsters. One is the custom 'Blastolene Special', which Wikipedia and others have as based on an American V12 tank engine. The other is a Meteor in a vintage Rolls...

That looks like a Rolls-Royce Meteor V12 engine out of a British tank. There's a few more scattered around the UK, such as in a famous Rover SD1 conversion (build thread here at PH although I also remember a TG episode about it too. Or John Dodd's Beast, or this gorgeous Bentley, although TG gets it wrong in the

The saddle brown is nice, but I can't say I'm particularly partial to the Titanium Grey. Is it really as purple as it looks in that photo?

Until I get the perfect British roadster I've always wanted, a 1991/2001 Miata Special Edition will stay on my wish list. It's the roadster the Brits should have made... it may not be anything particularly special under the hood, but in beautiful BRG/tan, kitted out with plenty of leather and wood... It's gorgeous and

Superb. One of the prettiest cars in the world, painted in the prettiest shade.

Incidentally, no. FRB is a known colour, it's not used as much as BRG, but it's a fine royal blue. High-end French sports cars are as often painted blue as British ones are in BRG and Italians in red...

Without a doubt, gorgeous. BRG looks best on Britain's own...although the original header image of the green 458 shows its general superiority as a colour.

What a tragic waste of an E-Type.
