Even if they thought there was a business case for this would it be a nightmare to retrofit it for our safety laws? Agree it looks pretty awesome and would be a lot of fun getting round large cities.

Idris Elba

Be great to see this back to back with a video of the 599GTO just to compare.

Now playing

Kevin Schwanz and Wayne Rainey.......partly because they were switching the lead the whole time:

The problem/opportunity is that the body style, particularly the front headlights, was kind of a low point for MB design over the last 20 years. I don't think it will age well but then again that's probably why the price won't be too high.

Would you please the hippies though and get one if it were available? Doesn't sound like it to me.

"Takes his Audi Avant skiing on the weekends." Not this winter he hasn't.

Chicken and egg though. Not enough buyers to make it profitable at gasoline car prices.

Right. In short you would be insane to buy an electric vehicle. I know one guy who bought the BMW i3 and it's a very awkward discussion.

I know you're only joking but don't forget all the other fees that come with owning vehicles not least insurance.

Meh. "More jail time" is never the answer.

I would guess yes. It's their identity and much more real and tangible than a "you will have your license suspended" or something similar.

It's an unenforceable precedent. If you heard there was a fight after school behind the gym and you showed up should you be suspended? Might be suspending 50 or 100 schoolkids.

lol I deserved that. But then you deserve this s/with within

I thought the starting price was $189K today? so that's closer to 45% right?

"Don't worry my cousin Larry can re-program that to Apple Play in 15 minutes. Sometimes when you ask for the weather you'll get the Sports scores but otherwise it works pretty good"

I'm being a little unfair to Tesla to make my main point which is Tesla iterated on the auto market whereas self driving transportation is a completely different beast (as an example once the technology is working you could probably trust a self driving car to go at 150mph or 200 mph on dedicated lanes on current

The problem with that Serious Gord is Apple has never allowed someone else to do the hardware for their software. So I have very real reservations that they would want to support that model.

I suspect if Apple thought it made sense to buy Tesla they would and it wouldn't be about cost of margins or other financial optics. But when you think about it Tesla is really a battery first company. In terms of the automobile all they did was change out the powertrains but in essences it's still a 20th century way

I mean, I can understand a bit of a spoiler alert. But you do realize it's just Top Gear we're talking about here.
