If your camera has a white balance (or sometimes called 'Color temperature') setting - try out some other settings to see which one gives you the best light. The color of the bulb wont matter at all if you have your white balance set to match it.

Better advice is to stay out of the sun. People intuitively think they need as much light as possible so they go right under the sun to take a pic. Whenever possible, when its bright out... go in the shade. On a bright day, a shaded area will have some of the best light as the tree and ground become great diffusors…
