I think it’s more like “America still sells the dream of upward mobility when the reality no longer exists.”

When every generation made more than their parents and lived in nicer housing, this idea didn’t come off as toxically aspirational.

It’s not obvious to me. I say this as someone who has never played the series, but I have absolutely no idea what you think the spoiler is. It looks like a moon with some art.

The GPUs died because of soldering flaws, not because of the game. Identical cards from other manufacturers didn’t die.

“so tattoo artists shouldn’t be able to sue for credit just because their art happens to be on someone’s skin? even if they themselves did the art?”

Tattoos can be copywritten, but tattoos on public figures are subject to a fair use exception given that the artists who tattoo these people can reasonably expect those

I mean, why would you say “I’m for a slightly higher minimum wage” instead of “I’m for doubling the minimum wage (and then some).”

The only thing I know regarding WV voters is that it was once a Dem stronghold that has gone almost completely red, so I’m not trying to argue that I am an expert on the topic. My comment

“Not sure why either one couldn’t be primaried.”

“The notion that ending capitalism would end inequality is a strawman that noone here is seriously putting forward.”

The quote I initially responded to, by the author of the story, was “There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism.” That quote came with a link. I read the link. I then responded to both the quote

I mean if capitalism greatly magnifies the issue then that’s a problem.”

You do not. Salary workers *can* be paid overtime, but you most certainly do not have to. It’s a complex topic and it varies by state. There have been some rule changes lately. For example, from Texas:

Salaried workers almost never get overtime.

“[T]here’s no ethical consumption under capitalism.”

“Saying “No” isn’t the only power individual Senators have, particularly not individual Senators in an evenly divided Senate.”

Saying “No” is the primary point and purpose of the Senate. It was literally designed to be a check on the will of the people. I am not claiming it is the only power, but it is the principle

we ought to blame some of the few dozen Democrats who have actual power, right now, to do something about it and are not.”

The last polling I saw said that private support for ending the filibuster had polled around 37 Democratic Senators in favor, IIRC. I could be wrong on that number, but the point of the article

When I play a game, the feel of the gameplay is absolutely higher priority than the story or its political trappings.”

I think you’re taking the quote out of context. He’s referring to the fact that the game explicitly adopts a real-world political situation, makes prominent reference to Cuba (despite not technically

“For me you sound like a tin foil hat wearer that sees everywhere signs to proof his theory and constructs a whole narrative around it.”

“Man is, by nature, a political animal.”

I was stunned. I had played the original Far Cry and part of FC2. I remembered nothing of the sort in either.

I knew Ubisoft was bad when I reviewed Far Cry 3 and saw the jokes.

“Can someone more versed in thermodynamics than I posit whether measuring the air temperature being kicked out from the exhaust is actually a sign of the console “running hotter” or whether this could just be a sign that it’s more efficient at exhausting heat thanks to a fan that moves more air?”

and myPS4's heat + fan noise problems got so bad towards the end that I simply stopped playing the thing”

“That would be the Luke of ROTJ who did indeed have a moment where he snapped and gave into rage/fear before deciding it wasn’t going to be helpful and turning back.... precisely as we see him doing in the TLJ flashbacks.”
