I have a follow-up question: assuming I choose to upgrade from my 3G, what should I do with my old iPhone? It can't be easy to sell with the 3Gs going for $100. Turn it into the ultimate TV remote?

@Benedinho: Well... apparently I can't... I tried to load it with a URL, and it submits but never appears there when it's done. I also uploaded from my desktop, and it appears to load, but on refresh it's not there.

@kake81: Oh wow... that's a little sad that I didn't notice that... thanks!

@Benedinho: Glad to hear. You never can tell these days.

what are the benefits over something like mediamonkey? Just the web integration?

I agree, you could buy the Ikea toolkit that includes all the required drill bits, for less than the price of some bolt cutters!

@bracho86: Looking at the Lifehacker browser statistics, 14.8% of readers are using IE7.x, with around 60% using Firefox 1 or 2 (not sure how often this is updated as FF3 doesn't show up?) so I guess the odd IE post is acceptable ;)

Why not use the awesome bar? Oh, wait....

Works fine on my WM6 Professional device, brilliant!!

@bnosach: I agree, it does seem like that, but the Windows Mobile posts have been slowly trickling in for a while. Hopefully this increased enthusiasm will continue!!

Good to see all these WiMo/PPC posts all of a sudden! I installed Total Commander yesterday in order to overwrite some of the write-protected system files on my new HTC device - I can't imagine getting one of these and not wanted to customise it far beyond the manufacturers intentions :)

@mskadu: Me too - multiple computers so multiple setup requirements, foxmarks is all I need as bookmarks are the only thing all the setups have in common!

@Absent Blue: that feature sure would be handy but doesn't work for me - "[lifehacker.com]:linux/" finds Posts Tagged "not Linux", of which there are none!

VOTE: Google Reader

I've been using the pdf toolkit (pdftk) command line tool quite a lot recently to do similar things, it's very handy once you get the hang of it and perhaps more lightweight than a java app?
