I’ve heard good things about the current line of Mini’s but my wife’s 2007 Mini S (which she refuses to sell) is a POS. Cheap components throughout, interior, exterior (mostly the plastic parts) undercarriage, exhaust...the list goes on. Fun to drive but this is mainly due to upgrades mandated by yours truly.
