Thank god.  There’s no way my delicate, virgin psyche could’ve handled that.  I’m still a mere child of 35 years and shouldn’t be exposed to such filth.

He probably doesn’t view it as a mistake, and that’s probably because it’s really not one. He knows he doesn’t hate homosexuals, and that’s not what his use of that word was about. The rest of the problem, mentally at least, is everyone else’s.

The vast majority of the time when people are using that word it’s not to disparage homosexuals. Same with the word “retard.”

When did I claim there was no threat? The distributor is absolutely reacting out of fear, and that fear is of a looming, omnipresent social threat of harassment towards their brand.

What I said is true, and it matters because it IS censorship. What you’re doing is just desperately trying to avoid calling it censorship.

The absurd lengths you have to reach to actually make that portrayal racial limits this to a handful of people being legitimately “hurt,” at absolute worst.

Don’t be naive; do you really think the publisher cares about your feelings? Offense could be construed at LITERALLY anything, depending on an individuals sensibilities. No company would ever release anything if “someone’s feelings might get hurt” was a legitimate concern.

People don’t like censorship, and being censored by a looming social backlash isn’t much better than being censored by the government.

They didn’t dub the episode because of a looming threat of retaliation for airing it.  That’s censorship; it’s just not government imposed censorship.

Implying that Ashe’s costume was in any way racial is a MASSIVE stretch; unless Ashe’s behavior when in that costume does exploit racial stereotypes.

A decision about content made out of fear of reprisal is self-imposed censorship. It’s not the legal definition of censorship; it’s the social definition. You’re withholding content because of a looming threat; the only difference is that threat isn’t a legal consequence, it’s a social one.

So, now even kids shows are too extreme for our fragile minds.  Seriously, as a species how did we become so incredibly weak mentally?  How is it that we can be broken by falsely perceived antagonism in a fucking show for children?

Nioh apes Souls, then souls turns around and apes Nioh. I love it; both incredible games, I hope they continue to draw inspiration from each other and improve on things.

I really don’t see the problem here. He believes marriage is a religious union, so he doesn’t want to promote gay marriage on a cake. How is he not within his rights here?

He’s not discriminating, though. He’ll sell to anyone; he just won’t promote any message they want him to promote.

It’s his business; how is he forcing his religious beliefs on you when you’re the one choosing to enter his store and use his service. It’s like me walking into a Catholic church in the middle of a service and complaining that they’re violating my right to not have their religion imposed on me.

He’s not talking about societies view on the issue; he’s talking about his own. He views it as religious, and doesn’t want to promote something that contradicts his spiritual beliefs.

She’s saying that some women may project insecurity about their gender, and assholes will attack any obvious sore spots they see.

When you’re dead you don’t have to own your words, I wouldn’t be posting them to make you live with them. I’d be posting them to soothe my own butthurt soul; because I’m such a small person that even in the face of your death I couldn’t let some ultimately trivial indiscretion go.

It’s like if there were an article about your death and I posted your own words here, in an attempt to paint you as a spiteful piece of shit with no common sense. It would be vindictive and petty of me, so instead of doing that I’d post a nice, tasteful “RIP”, if I felt compelled to post anything at all.
