Freema’s accent is impressive! I hadn’t seen her do it before, but she’s able to be so expressive, which a lot of actors doing non-native accents struggle with. Plus, she’s just awesome generally.

I think what encompasses Capheus chaarcter most is his enthusiasm. It’s like the thing Kala said to him about poor people in Mumbai having no furniture but still having a huge TV. Straczynski is a slow-burn table setter type of creator...as a result once the hooks are in you, it’s FAR too late and you’re unequivocally hooked.

Capheus is fascinating to watch. Aml Ameen is absolutely KILLING the role in every scene. His facial reactions are acting all by themselves without dialogue.

Absolutely. To juxtapose the way her mother is towards her...with the level and devotion in Amanita is a study in right and wrong ways to care. Amanita and Nomi are the best relationship in the show, seconded only by Lito and Hernando.

I actually loved this show. My favorite character was Capheus. It looks like he is going to be the spiritual center of the group. Every time he was on screen with the other characters he managed to take a familiar trope of “guy from 3rd world amazed by modern tech” and make it seem real and genuine. Not to mention…

Not enjoyed a show like this in a while. Although the change of pace does kill it sometimes, especially episode 9 ish. But I can forgive it. And I love the soundtrack.
