If you look closely, all of the opening of conversation Street are different in terms of what’s happening during the opening montage. The third conversation Street had Clarkson on heels while the fourth CS had Hammond’s hand growing larger.

Sparhawk series is under the Book of the Elenium trilogy + Book of the Tamuli ttrilogy. May or may not be up your alley but to me it was funny and certainly believable. Written by David Eddings (now with Leigh Eddings) since his wife helped him.
