I’m surprised by Trump’s interpretation on this. The darker horse won, but then after an appeal on technical grounds, the judicial system declared the lighter colored horse - far less qualified according to oddsmakers - the winner. You’d think Trump would be on board.

Yes. They don’t actually want free speech. They want what every coward and bully wants - to be able to hit people without fear of being hit back.

These folks and their political allies are actively hostile to this understanding of the public square so long as it works against them. Unfortunately, this is also one of the main strategic planks of the modern GOP.

Every time something like this happens, these right wing groups throw the first-amendment book at you. This is not how the first amendment works. The first amendment is a guarantee/bond between the government and a citizen.

At dinner last night my dad called me a conspiracy theorist.  I’ve been calling him that for years but he finally used it on me about the Russia Collusion.  I’ll never forget that smile.  That smile is the reason I’m gonna move out soon.

I’m an independent voter, and I have voted R, D, and independent at various times in my life. But after these past, well 10 years really, I will never, ever, ever, vote R again for anything at all. Good job, R nuts?

Take that feeling of dejection and use it to remind yourself in the voting booth to never vote for a Republican ever again.
