I do agree that where you are matters. A fancy restaurant? Yeah I will pull my screaming child outside. I actually did this the other day. But at the grocery store when I have to get 3 things and he's hysterical? I ignore and shop. I don't have any other choice.

We fucking stand there because that is what we have been advised to do. You never ever ever acknowledge a tantrum. You ignore it and eventually they learn to give up when they don't get their way. You can't stop it (kids don't work that way) so you ignore it.
