“I don’t think so, I’m browsing for a project.”
“Jobs end. Friends drop out of contact. Women leave you. Lotus is forev- shit, the gearbox is shot again.”
Busted AC is perfectly normal for a Lotus, not uncommon in a 30-year-old car, and in a Nebraska summer is reason enough to sell.
I didn’t realize these were actual pieces attached to the bumper. I’ve seen a few on Chargers/Challengers locally and thought it was just some sort of yellow tape put on like trim on the air dam. Honestly, I like the look of it. If I had a Charger, I’d definitely go for that look. But not with plastic covers. Tape…
Especially an high impact to road debris and rocks area like a lower front splitter. Remove the protectors because they look stupid, if you think so, removing them to protect paint underneath is a really moronic excuse.
“Dirt, some forum members say, can get caught between the yellow plastic and the lower facia, and over time, the relative motion between the two parts can cause abrasion of the car’s clear coat.”
Go out to the parking lot - any parking lot - and look at air dams relative the condition of the rest of the vehicle. Uncovered, that leading edge is way more prone to damage than the unintentional abrasion from the protector being left in place. This isn’t exactly analogous to the damage caused by the car bras that…
Not that many people do it, but these’d be great for AutoX - a hardier version of painter’s-taping the leading edges.
I love the look.
I also wish I could buy those as an aftermarket accessory on every car I’ve ever owned... I’ve scuffed up the lower corners of every car I’ve owned... I’d rather have something like this I can just replace!
Plus the yellow accents look really cool. I’d definitely leave them on if I bought one.
“I cringe when I see it...so I sold them to someone who will surely use them.”
I think they look good, especially on the grey car - they add a nice pop of color. And I suppose they’re probably functional too, preventing the splitters from getting scraped on curbs and such. But if those splitters are functional then those guards are probably not helping.
They are angry they threw a $100 bill in the trash when they bought their Challenger, that’s all.
Admittedly, I like the way it looks.
I refuse to take advice on any topic from anyone who openly rattle cans a foot away from a new car and on concrete.
