Tom Petty is offended by your dismissal of slant rhymes.

Really, how much can you make with a stand mixer? Lots of desserts. Not that much actual food.

Not quite true. The Vikings, after reinstating Peterson, got slammed by the state governor who only grudgingly agreed to the stadium deal (how could he not? Then you'd be "the one who let the Vikings leave.) The next day, they pulled Peterson out again.

I think Altman's "The Long Goodbye" included several version of the tittle song, including a snippet of one by Waits.

Boy, not a lot here. Maybe "Left Behind" for unintentional silliness, and the fracking documentary. Can't blame the authors for trying to jazz it up with personas; movies are kinda crap right now.

I loved those. And I also didn't know it was the same guy back when they were first out!

Huh. I just watched the first six episodes and enjoyed them immensely. Dumb me!

You had a zillion attempts by the culture industry to market stuff to Gen Xers, and none worked. Then you had "Friends," and it did work. I hate that show, and always will.

Or if the guy who wrote "Gosford Park" thought, "you know, I can do this over again exactly the same but with less social criticism because no damn Altman/Balaban twerps are in charge, and this time I will make a staggering arseload of money."

Well said. Thanks for sharing, and keep fighting as best you can.

I always liked how the actor in the opening sequence looked so much like Keir Dullea from "2001." Nice throw-out to sic-fi history.

OK, shouldn't make fun of this . . .

If it had a moderator, like that Bill Nye-vs.-"the Flinstones was accurate" debate, then yeah, I'd watch this!

Turd on Chris Columbus all you like, anyone who likes to do such things, but he did pick kid actors for "Harry Potter" who were pretty grounded and everyone involved in the franchise did a pretty good job of keeping them from becoming psychos. I suspect using some of the best older actors around helped with this.

Back when we thought the good aspects of technology (color TV) outweighed the bad aspects (the threat of nuclear war.)

Oh, God, that theme song. It's like Lee Greenwood doing "I'm Proud To Be A Starfleetian." What's worst about it is that you know it by heart even though you hate it. It's been a long road, as they say.

"Trek" now is in the same place "Doctor Who" was for British fans in the 80's. An essentially simplistic concept with a core of optimism that remains appealing, despite the worst efforts of non-fans like J.J. Abrams (he's on record as saying he never liked Trek) to make the franchise "Transformers"-level.

Best. Damn. Actor. Alive. (Who's not Ian McKellan.)

No rap? OK, if that's how it rolls. I'll be cuing up "M-E-T-H-O-D Man" now.

"Run." Love it.
